Northeast Tennessee Regional Hub names Scott Robertson CCO

Scott Robertson has been named chief communications officer for the Northeast Tennessee Regional Hub. In making the announcement, the Executive Board cited the long-time managing editor of The Business Journal of Tri-Cities TN/VA’s relationships with regional leaders and his experience covering economic and community development.

“We’re excited to welcome Scott Robertson to the Hub and to see the positive impact his work here will bring to the organization and to the region,” said Bristol Motor Speedway President Jerry Caldwell, the Chairman of the Regional Hub Executive Board. “Leaders in both the public and private sectors have come to respect Scott over the years for his skill as a communicator and his integrity.”

“Scott Robertson has covered just about everything that’s happened in business in Northeast Tennessee for the last 20 years,” said Dennis Phillips, CEO. “He understands economic development, but just as important, he understands how to help people see the benefits of working together as a region.”

Robertson’s editorials and public speaking appearances during his tenure at The Business Journal often focused on the benefits of regional cooperation. “Whether you’re building a business or raising a family, this region has so much to offer,” Robertson said. “But we haven’t always communicated that message very well to the rest of the world. The Hub will tell our story with one strong voice, so we can more effectively reach job-creators, tourists, and people who’ll see what a great place to raise a family this is. I’m thrilled to be a part of that.”

Robertson most recently served as director of Marketing and Communications for United Way of Southwest Virginia. In addition, Robertson has been involved in numerous regional visioning, workforce and community health initiatives in Northeast Tennessee including Pathways to Prosperity, Bristol 2040 and RegionAHEAD.
